Born in 1977 in Béthune, lives and works in
Lille.
STUDIES:
Master of art and communication.
His « maniac world » is populated by these « Maniacs », characters who first seem funny then worrying. They wear ostentatiously a monstruous smile which seems particularly ambiguous because we don’t know if they are actually trying to appeal to us or if they are coaxing us into loving them. If this parallel world seems abounding and colorful entertain in a first time, it turns out sweltering and suffocating.
Skwak relates the history of this community in his canvas which remind us of aboriginal paintings by their brilliance, their visual intensity, and through the framework which drawn in this mass of elements and characters.
