Skwak

Born in 1977 in Béthune, lives and works in Lille.

The « maniac world » populated by those « Maniacs », characterswho seems first fun then worrying. They don’t stop smiling with a monstruous rictus which seems particulary ambiguous because we don’t know if they try to captivate or if they coax us to crunch us. If this parralel world, abounding and colorful enterntain in a first time, it turns out sweltering and suffocating.
Skwak relates the history of this community in his canvas which reminds aborigine paintings in their brilliance, their visual intensity, in the framework which is drawned with this multitude of elements and characters.
