Skwak

Born in 1977 in béthune, lives and works in Lille

Skwak created his own graphic world populated by creatures with an exagerated look , fed with absurd and : the “Maniac World”. His universe is perpetually evolving, getting richer, and finds it’s place, it’s codes.. it’s a huge playground completly crazy, polluted, coloured and laidback. It’s a wonderful and nightmare world which looks like our but without any hierarchy. This pollution is to understand in terms of nuisance, it can be atmospheric( ecological) but contains also the idea of “too much” exageration : too much desire to seduce (plastic surgery, models with perfect bodies), ostentatious wealth ( bling bling gold chains, big cars)...
His style of drawing expresses this accumulation, this idea of suffocation.
