Graffiti Group ShowWK Interact, Pax Paloscia, Dan Witz, CrashExhibition from April 1st to May 22nd 2009
Opening on Saturday, 1st
of April 2009 Wk Interact French artist of the street art internationally recognized and living in New York, he spreads a very strong energy in his paintings. He works on the movement and the speed. In black and white, his paintings look like human tornados, which would have left the tracks of their passage on walls, with a certain reserved violence. PAX Paloscia Coming from Rome, she offers us in her paintings a metaphor of her feelings felt in front of cynicism of the world of the adults. Young artist influenced by the art of street, PAX invites us to share her vision of the childhood, eternal and invincible. Dan Witz Recognized since the 80s for his oil paintings on the walls of New York, he pursues the atmospheres of the night in his works on which he bottoms as a bird of prey. On one hand, his oils on canvas with purified lines offer us a felted and quiet vision of the suburb but in which any soul is present. On the other one, with his series of "Mosh Pit", his troops of people or animals, which, by their profusion, seem dehumanized. ADDICT Galerie proposes, from May 23 until July 4th 2009 a personal exhibition of Dan Witz that will present the various facets of his work with new canvas, between absence and presence, by negotiating ceaselessly with the human being. Crash John Crash Matos known as "Crash", pioneer of the Aerosol ® evolution, recovers New York subways since the age of 13. He transposes his works on canvas from the end of the 70s, still using the spray paint as a working tool. His paintings, inspired by the Pop Art, are nowadays in the most prestigious collections: those of the MOMA in New York, the Brooklyn Museum of art, the Groninger Museum or the Stedelijk in Amsterdam. Besides, this artist is represented in the exhibition T.A.G at the Grand Palais (in Paris), from March 27th till April 26th, among 150 international graffiti-artists. Also, the Cartier foundation advances with ambition the scale of this artistic movement through an exhibition in order to let the public discover the major figures of the current street art (from July till December, 2009). These events show the craze of institutions for the graffiti and the recognition of these artists, stemming from the street art and supported by ADDICT Galerie, on the current artistic scene. |
